Filming inside an operating police station is not possible. All police stations in Hong Kong police and crime films are re-imagined and designed. This limitation actually opens up boundless creative possibilities for art directors. From the hyper‑realistic sets of the 1980s and 1990s — complete with Kwan Kung altars and government wooden desks — to the expansive glass walls and wide‑open action spaces in “Infernal Affairs”, and later the postmodern, high‑tech facilities in “Cold War”, the design of police stations continues to evolve, becoming the genre’s most expressive artistic elements. This exhibition also showcases a CID Office of the 1970s and 1980s designed by film art director with realism and creativity. The Exhibition features four parts that allow visitors to immerse into a film set.
