A celebration of innovation💡! Congrats to the Hong Kong delegation at the 49th International Exhibition of Inventions Geneva @inventionsgva on its record-breaking haul of over 350 awards. Among the awardees, @hongkongpolyu claimed the highest number of 45 awards, while the Electrical and Mechanical Services Department (#EMSD) won a total of 21 awards. Widely regarded as one of the most significant global annual events on inventions, the expo this year attracted more than 1,000 exhibits from nearly 40 countries and regions. 1. Hong Kong set to play a big part in the 2025 National Games📢📢! Announced yesterday (Apr 11) by the newly formed 2025 National Games organising committee, Hong Kong will stage 8 events: basketball (men U22)🏀, track cycling🚴🏼, fencing🤺, golf⛳️, handball (men)🤾🏻‍♂️, rugby sevens🏉, triathlon💨 and beach volleyball🏐, as well as a mass participation event, bowling. For the first time, Hong Kong will be co-hosting the country's highest level multi-sports event next year (Nov 9 - 21, 2025), along with Guangzhou and Macao. Hong Kong SAR Chief Executive, John Lee, said the city will adhere to the principle of "simple, safe and wonderful" in organising the Games, making full use of existing venues and the soon-to-be-completed Kai Tak Sports Park.
